About Wong’s Tacos Raleigh
Wongs Tacos is the best of both worlds brought together but never forgetting the sanctity of either. Not just Chinese. Not just Mexican. Burritos, bowls, tacos and other fun fusion dishes inspired by the flavors of both Chinese and Mexican cuisines. We like to call it affectionately and playfully Mexinese. We are defining the Mexinese Culinary culture.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Eric was an Amazing bartender/food runner. Definitely recommend eating here and eating the Truffle mushroom Quesadillas! It came with an amazing spicy cilantro sauce! I recommend everything including the Tequila Mockingbird!

Wong Taco is a vibe right across the street from my home! With great company, this place has a lot of flavor & hospitality! Our bartender was awesome and swift as she took our food orders. The host was kind enough to keep watch so we could grab a seat at the bar because there was no table for an hour! Solid menu options & those chorizo eggrolls were so incredible! My least favorite was the bugiglgu taco. I was hoping for more flavor, but that jerk chicken was the spot! The guacamole could be a hit or miss. Why? If you like a little more lime in your guacamole, then this is for you! The nice touch is that you can order a lettuce wrap as your taco base! We’ll be back, job well done, team! Handling the burst of customers with calm & execution!

Wong’s Tacos has quickly become one of my favorite spots. I’ve been twice now and have tried several tacos including the El Blanco, Crispy Kung Pao, Seared Shrimp, Chili Lime Chicken, and Jerk Chicken and every single one was flavorful and well executed. The Crispy Kung Pao and Jerk Chicken tacos especially stood out for their unique flavor combinations. I highly recommend the Bento Box that includes 3 tacos. My son tried the Big Burrito and absolutely loved it as well, so there was something for everyone in our group. What really keeps us coming back though is the customer service. The staff was stellar during both visits. They were friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere is also very family friendly, with both indoor and outdoor seating that makes it easy whether you’re grabbing a quick meal or sitting down to relax. Great food, great service, and a cool environment. We’ll definitely be back again.

First time at this restaurant. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Nice patio. The crispy Brussels sprouts were amazing!!! The Korean brisket bibimbap was average, the chicken quesadilla was very good. I will go back to try other items on the menu.

Joe at Wong’s Tacos made this one of the best, budget friendly food experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was incredible, it was the perfect mix of my favorite flavors. The Korean-Mexican fusion is done so well, and I loved that there were tons of gluten-free and dairy-free options. We ordered a ton of food and everything was amazing. The mango mojitos were only $5 today (Thursday) and SO good. Super refreshing and perfectly balanced. The Mexican rice was such a standout, it was a blend of Asian fried rice and Mexican rice, but as a Puerto Rican it honestly reminded me of arroz con gandules in the best way. So flavorful and comforting. They also had a bento box special with three tacos, sweet plantains, chips, and your choice of guac, pico, or queso. Honestly such a good deal and such a fun combo. But truly, Joe made the whole experience. He was so kind, attentive, and great at explaining everything. You can tell he cares about the food and the customers. If the food didn’t already make this place amazing, the service absolutely would. Fantastic experience all around. We’ll definitely be back.
